The festival brings many people to Muscatine from many communities in Iowa and Illinois plus from Missouri, Minnesota, Michigan, Colorado, Wisconsin. Visitors also engage in the eagle watch, visit the National Button Museum and Art Center as well as stay overnight and eat out at various restaurants.
Our Ragtime Weekend is a live music event that helps to preserve and perpetuate an outstanding musical heritage. Ragtime can be considered the mother of other music styles like Dixieland jazz, blues, honky tonk, leading to rock and roll as well as modern jazz. Our festival helps to engage the community, helps to educate and enlightens the listener. During the silent movies and live music at Jefferson School, kids are dancing in their seats! A joyful sight to see.
